The beautiful Amber and Curtis were married at Raemoir House Hotel with a small party of just 11 wedding guests brought over from the USA for a destination wedding in Scotland. This wedding was intimate, but was also one of my favourites of 2016.
On arrival at the venue, guests were treated to an afternoon tea in the hotel’s beautiful lounge. The bride said “Everything from the presentation to the sandwiches, sweets, tea and coffee was just splendid. I was honestly blown away at how well everything was put together. Even though we had the rehearsal dinner just a few hours after this, I could not stop eating. It was shameful, to say the least!”
That evening, they enjoyed an intimate dinner overlooking the river Dee at the nearby Banchory Lodge Hotel.
Hair and makeup was expertly provided by Julie and her team at Riah Hair and Beauty. Amber commented, “I cannot rave enough about Donna and Julie. They were a couple of miracle workers! My hair and makeup trial went perfectly on Thursday, so we all had a good plan when it came to how I wanted to look day-of. They were able to recreate everything perfectly and did so well by the rest of the ladies. They were always calm and reassuring, no matter how crazy it got that morning in the bridal suite.”
This beautiful country hotel was the perfect backdrop for their colourful celebration, with stunning flowers from the lovely and talented Jill at Hays Flowers. who got a glowing review from the bride and groom, “Cannot say enough great things about Jill. To say she knows her stuff is an absolute understatement. She pulled off the flowers and decor to absolute perfection. I mean I would not change a single thing that she did. It was all stunning! I carted my bridal bouquet around the country for over a week and was loathe to let it go!”
After photos in the hotel’s beautiful gardens, the guests enjoyed a traditional, intimate wedding breakfast prepared by the hotels’ multi-award winning catering team. After their reception, the entire party joined in with the local celebrations for the Banchory river festival and attended a full-blown traditional Scottish ceilidh.
The bride and groom were over the moon with their choice of venue, commenting “There is a reason Raemoir house has such a wonderful reputation. From the time we met Neil on Thursday to the time we checked out on Sunday, everyone was so accommodating, so friendly, professional and helpful. You could not have recommended a better venue. It was perfect in every way. I can’t even give the food proper justice. There is not one thing that I had that wasn’t just flat out delicious. Some of the best food we’ve ever had! I know I’ve said it before, but none of this would have been possible without you. I am so grateful that you brought us through this process in such style!”
